Daily Summary of Events

10 Dec 68:  HMM-364 transferred from MAG-36, Phu Bai to MAG-16, Marble Mountain, RVN.  HMM-364 flew 88 sorties for 69.3 flight hours, lifting 74 troops/
passengers and 58.9 tons of cargo in support of MAG-16, MAG-36 and HMM-364.

11 Dec 68:  HMM-364 flew 269 sorties for 111.4 flight hours, lifting 804 troops/ passengers, 94.9 tons of cargo and expended 20 rounds of .50 caliber ordnance in support of the following Operation and Units: Taylor Common, 1st MARDIV, MAG-16 and HMM-364.

12 Dec 68:  HMM-364 flew 46 sorties for 15.0 flight hours, lifting 59 troops/
passengers, 3.1 tons of cargo and expended 20 rounds of .50 caliber ordnance in support of the following Units:  1st MARDIV, MAG-16 and HMM-364. 

13 Dec 68:  The squadron flew 158 sorties for 38.7 flight hours, lifting 609 troops/ passengers and 18,7 tons of cargo.  Two Low ceilings in the DaNang area restricted flight operations with HMM-364 flying only 47 sorties for 12.9 flight hours and lifting 13 troops/passengers.  Eleven medevac missions carried 11 Emergency evacuees in support of the following Operation and Units:  Taylor Common, 1st MARDIV, MAG-16 and HMM-364  Two fire incidents were reported with no aircraft receiving hits.

14 Dec 68:  HMM-364 flew 67 sorties for 17.6 flight hours, lifting 22.7 tons of cargo and 170 troops/passengers.  One medevac missions carried 1 Routine evacuee in support of the following Operation and Units:  Taylor Common, 1st MARDIV, MAG-16 and HMM-364. 

15 Dec 68:  HMM-364 flew 96 sorties for 23.7 flight hours, lifting  1.6 tons of cargo, and 455 troops/passengers.  One medevac mission carried 2 Routine evacuees in support of the following Operations and Units:  Taylor Common, 1st MARDIV, MAG-16 and HMM-364.

16 Dec 68:  HMM-364 flew 217 sorties for 44.2 flight hours, lifting 49.6 tons of cargo and 559 troops/passengers.  One medevac mission carried 2 Routine evacuees in support of the following Operation and Units:  Taylor Common, 1st MARDIV, MAG-16 and HMM-364. 

17 Dec 68:  Hmm-364 flew 80 sorties for 23.0 flight hours, lifting 10.8 tons of cargo and 340 troops/passengers while expending 6100 rounds of .50 caliber ordnance.  One medevac mission carried 5 Routine evacuees in support of the following Operation and Units:  Taylor Common, 1st MARDIV, MAG-16 and HMM-364.  Two enemy fire incidents were reported with YK-7 receiving 3 hits and YK-10 receiving 1 hit and 1 WIA.

18 Dec 68:  HMM-364 flew 78 sorties for 26.7 flight hours, lifting .5 tons of cargo and 388 troops/passengers in support of the following Operation and Units: Taylor Common, 1st MARDIV, MAG-16 and HMM-364. 

19 Dec 68:  HMM-364 flew 76 sorties for 24.8 flight hours, lifting 7.2 tons of cargo and 222 troops/passengers.  Two medevac missions carried 11 Routine evacuees in support of the following Operation and Units:  Taylor Common, 1st MARDIV, MAG-16 and HMM-364.

20 Dec 68:  HMM-364 flew 82 sorties for 32.8 flight hours, lifting 1.8 tons of cargo and 152 troops/passengers in support of the following Units:  1st MARDIV, MAG-16 and HMM-364. 

21 Dec 68:  HMM-364 flew 107 sorties for 31.2 flight hours, lifting 3.9 tons of cargo and 199 troops/passengers.  Twenty-one medevac missions carried 9 Emergency, 17 Priority and 14 Routine evacuees in support of the following Operation and Units:  Taylor Common, 1st MARDIV, MAG-16 and HMM-364.

22 Dec 68:  HMM-364 flew 150 sorties for 38.1 flight hours, lifting 53.2 tons of cargo and 101 troops/passengers in support of the following Operation and Units:  Taylor Common, 1st MARDIV, MAG-16 and HMM-364.

23 Dec 68:  HMM-364 flew 99 sorties for 29.1 flight hours, lifting 23.0 tons of cargo and 81 troops/passengers.  Five medevac missions carried 11 Priority and 21 Routine evacuees in support of the following Operation and Units:  Taylor Common, 1st MARDIV, MAG-16 and HMM-364.

24 Dec 68:  HMM-364 flew 11 sorties for 3.7 flight hours, lifting 19  troops/ passengers.  Two medevac missions carried 10 Emergency and 9 Priority evacuees in support of the following Operation and Units:  Taylor Common, 1st MARDIV, MAG-16 and HMM-364.

25 Dec 68:  HMM-364 flew 185 sorties for 52.9 flight hours, lifting 26.7 tons of cargo and 540 troops/passengers expending 50 rounds of .50 caliber ordnance.  Ten medevac missions carried 3 Emergency, 4 Priority and 11 Routine evacuees in support of the following Operation and Units:  Taylor Common, 1st MARDIV, MAG-16 and HMM-364.  Eight aircraft of HMM-364 participated in Operation Holly 1968 (Christmas related for the troops in the field).

26 Dec 68:  HMM-364 flew 109 sorties for 44.2 flight hours, lifting 10.6 tons of cargo, and 256 troops/passengers.  Eleven medevac missions carried 9 Emergency, 67 Priority and 1 Routine evacuees in support of the following Operation and Units:  Taylor Common, 1st MARDIV, MAG-16 and HMM-364. 

27 Dec 68:  HMM-364 flew 86 sorties for 31.6 flight hours, lifting 3.7 tons of cargo and 141 troops/passengers. Sixteen medevac missions carried 4 Emergency, 45 Priority and 12 Routine evacuees in support of the following Operation and Units:  Taylor Common, 1st MARDIV, MAG-16 and HMM-364.

28 Dec 68:  HMM-364 flew 48 sorties for 17.9 flight hours, lifting 2.9 tons of cargo and 78 troops/passengers.  Thirty medevac missions carried 30 Emergency, 18 Priority and 10 Routine evacuees and expended 600 rounds of .50 caliber ordnance in support of the following Operation and Units:  Taylor Common, 1st MARDIV, MAG-16 and HMM-364.

29 Dec 68:  HMM-364 flew 144 sorties for 36.2 flight hours, lifting 23.4 tons of cargo, 211 troops/passengers.  Thirteen medevac missions carried 6 Emergency, 16 Priority and 2 Routine evacuees in support of the following Operation and Units:  Taylor Common, 1st MARDIV, MAG-16 and HMM-364.

30 Dec 68:  HMM-364 flew 133 sorties for 25.6 flight hours, lifting 17.2 tons of cargo and 105 troops/passengers.  Forty-three medevac missions carried 17 Emergency, 20 Priority and 14 Routine evacuees in support of the following Operation and Units:  Taylor Common, 1st MARDIV, MAG-16 and HMM-364.

31 Dec 68:  HMM-364 flew 74 sorties for 18.3 flight hours, lifting .6 tons of cargo and 51 troops/passengers.  Ten medevac missions carried 17 Emergency, 20 Priority and 14 Routine evacuees in support of the following Operation and Units:  Taylor Common, 1st MARDIV, MAG-16 and HMM-364.

To recap the daily listing, HMM-364 flew 2,003 sorties for 762.3 flight hours during the period 10-31 December with an average availability of 6 aircraft, lifting 6,083 troops/passengers and 434.4 tons of cargo.  167 medevac missions evacuated a total of 418 evacuees of which 90 were Emergency, 229 Priority and 99 Routine.  A total of 6,190 rounds of .50 caliber ammunition was expended.
